ठान लो तो जीत पक्की 

 विवेक एक ऐसा छात्र था जो अपनी कक्षा में अक्सर सबसे पीछे बैठता था। उसका चेहरा हमेशा चुप और आँखों में एक अजीब सी थकावट रहती थी। उसके पास न नया बैग था, न किताबें, न ठीक से लिखने वाला पेन। कई बार अध्यापक उसे डाँट देते, सहपाठी हँसी उड़ाते, लेकिन वह सब सहकर भी हर दिन स्कूल आता रहा।

वह पेन जो वह रोज़ इस्तेमाल करता था, दरअसल आधा टूटा हुआ था। कभी-कभी लिखता, कभी नहीं। लेकिन उसी पेन से वह अपने सपनों को जोड़ता जा रहा था। घर की आर्थिक स्थिति इतनी खराब थी कि माँ को चाय तक नसीब नहीं होती थी, ताकि बेटा स्कूल जा सके। विवेक ने कभी शिकायत नहीं की। लेकिन एक दिन जब अध्यापक ने सबके सामने उसे डाँटा और कहा, “तुम्हें कुछ नहीं बनना है ज़िंदगी में,” तो विवेक का दिल टूट गया।

वह शाम को घर आया और माँ से बोला, “माँ, अब नहीं पढ़ूंगा। सब मुझे नीचा दिखाते हैं। मेरे पास कुछ नहीं है।” माँ ने कुछ नहीं कहा। वह चुपचाप उठी, उसका टूटा हुआ पेन उठाया और बोली, “बेटा, ये पेन भले टूटा है, पर इसकी स्याही अभी भी बाकी है। ठीक वैसे ही जैसे तू खुद को टूटा समझता है, लेकिन तेरे अंदर अब भी मेहनत और हौसला बाकी है।”

विवेक माँ की बात सुनकर अंदर से हिल गया। उसी रात उसने खुद से वादा किया कि वह अब हार नहीं मानेगा। अगले दिन से उसने पुरानी किताबें माँगकर पढ़ना शुरू किया, जो भी पन्ना मिलता उसमें नोट्स बनाता। स्कूल से लौटने के बाद दूसरों के जूते पॉलिश करता और रात को स्ट्रीट लाइट के नीचे बैठकर पढ़ाई करता। उसके पास न समय की कमी थी, न हिम्मत की।

धीरे-धीरे उसकी मेहनत रंग लाने लगी। वह हर विषय में बेहतर होता गया। और जब बोर्ड परीक्षा का परिणाम आया, तो सब हैरान रह गए। विवेक ने जिले में टॉप किया था। वही छात्र जिसे कोई जानना नहीं चाहता था, अब अख़बारों की सुर्ख़ियों में था। स्कूल में तालियाँ बज रही थीं, और उसकी माँ की आँखों में गर्व के आँसू थे।

आज विवेक एक अधिकारी है, लेकिन उसकी मेज पर अब भी एक टूटा हुआ पेन रखा है – एक याद के रूप में। वह पेन उसे हर दिन याद दिलाता है कि हालत चाहे जैसे भी हों, अगर भीतर स्याही बाकी है – यानी अगर हिम्मत बाकी है – तो कुछ भी असंभव नहीं।

यह कहानी हमें सिखाती है कि जब तक हम हार नहीं मानते, तब तक कोई भी हालात हमें हरा नहीं सकते। बस ज़रूरत है खुद पर विश्वास करने की, और उस टूटी चीज़ में भी अवसर देखने की।

Victory Is Certain If You Dare to Dream

Vivek was a student who always sat in the back of the classroom. His face carried silence, and his eyes held a strange kind of exhaustion. He didn’t have a new bag, or proper books, or even a good pen to write with. Teachers often scolded him, and classmates laughed at him, yet he never missed a single day of school.

The pen he used every day was actually broken in half. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. Still, he clung to that pen — as if it connected him to his dreams. At home, the financial situation was so dire that even a cup of tea was a luxury for his mother — just so her son could go to school. Vivek never complained. But one day, when a teacher scolded him publicly and said, “You’ll never become anything in life,” it shattered him.

That evening, he came home and told his mother, “Maa, I won’t study anymore. Everyone looks down on me. I have nothing.” His mother said nothing. Quietly, she picked up his broken pen and said, “Son, this pen may be broken, but its ink is still there — just like you. You may feel broken, but your courage and hard work are still alive.”

Her words stirred something deep within Vivek. That night, he made a promise to himself: he wouldn’t give up. The next day, he started borrowing old books. Whatever pages he found, he used to take notes. After school, he would polish shoes, and at night he would study under a streetlight. He lacked resources, but not determination.

Slowly, his efforts bore fruit. He improved in every subject. And when board exam results came out, everyone was shocked — Vivek had topped the district. The boy nobody noticed was now in the newspapers. His school echoed with applause, and tears of pride filled his mother’s eyes.

Today, Vivek is an officer, but on his desk sits that same broken pen — a symbol of his journey. That pen reminds him each day: no matter how hard life gets, if the ink within is still there — meaning courage — then nothing is impossible.

This story teaches us that as long as we don’t give up, no situation can defeat us. All we need is faith in ourselves, and the ability to see opportunity even in broken things.
