 *!! चतुर सोनार !!*

एक राजा था। राजा बहुत ही बुद्धिमान था। राजा ने अपने मंत्रियों से कहा कि क्या कोई मुझसे चोरी कर सकता है। सभी मंत्रियों ने कहा नही राजा आपसे कोई चोरी नही कर सकता है। तभी एक मंत्री ने कहा राजा जी कुछ सुनार होते है। जो व्यक्तियों के सामने से ही सोना चुराते है। तो राजा ने कहा यह नामुमकिन है मेरे सामने कोई भी सुनार सोना नही चुरा सकता। उसने राज्य के सभी सुनारों को अपने दरबार मे बुलाने का आदेश दिया। आदेश के अनुसार सभी सुनार राज्य में आये। 

सभी आपस मे चिंतित थे कि राजा किस वजह से एक साथ हमे बुलाये है। तभी राजा दरबार मे आये और उन्होंने कहा कि क्या आप मेरी देख रेख में भी सोने की चोरी कर सकते है। कुछ सोनार ने कहा जी हां हम एक चौथाई सोना निकाल सकते है। कुछ ने कहा कि हम आधा सोना चुरा सकते है। तभी राम नाम के एक सुनार ने कहा कि मैं पूरा सोना आपके सामने रहते हुए भी चुरा सकता है। सभी लोग आश्चर्यजनक हुए की राम तुम यह नही कर सकते पर उसने फिर से कहा नहीं मैं यह कर सकता हूं।

राजा ने आदेश दिया कि अगर ऐसा तुम कर पाओगे तो तुम्हारा विवाह मैं अपनी बेटी से करवाऊँगा और अपने राज्य का आधा हिस्सा तुम्हे दे दूँगा। और कहा कि यह पूरा काम मेरी और पहरेदारो को निगरानी में होगा। साथ ही तुम्हें अलग से वस्त्र दिए जाएंगे जिन्हें तुम यहां काम करते वक्त उन्हें ही पहनोगे और जाते वक्त अपने वस्त्र ही पहन कर जाओगे। राम में कहा ठीक है जैसी आप की आज्ञा। राम ने दूसरे दिन से अपना काम आरंभ किया। 

राजा की देख रेख में एक शिव जी की सोने की मूर्ति उसे बनाने के लिए दी गयी। धीरे धीरे मूर्ति का चलता रहा। वह दिन भर राजा के यहां शिव जी की सोने की मूर्ति बनाता और एक ध्यान देने वाली बात यह थी कि वह रात में शिव जी की पीतल की मूर्ति अपने घर पे बनाता। यह क्रम चलता रहा। लगभग एक हफ्ते बाद मूर्ति बनकर तैयार हुई और राम ने राजा से कहा अब मुझे एक चमकाने के लिए ताजा दही चाहिए शाम का वक्त था इस टाइम ताजा दही मिलना मुश्किल था।

पहरेदारों को आदेश दिया गया कि ताजा दही ढूंढ कर लाया जाए। पहरेदार बहुत परेशान हुए पर उन्हें ताजा दही नही मिला। तभी एक अचानक से एक युवती ताजा दही मटके में बेच रही थी। राम ने सोने की मूर्ति उस मटके में डाली और निकाल कर उसे चमका दिया। फिर राजा ने अपने स्वर्ण विशेषज्ञ को बुलाया और मूर्ति की जांच करने को कहा और पूछा कि इस मूर्ति में कितना सोना है। स्वर्ण विशेषज्ञ आश्चर्यजनक हुए की राजा इसमें तो एक भी सोना नही है। यह जानकर राजा भी बहुत हैरान हुआ कि पूरा काम मेरी देख रेख में हुआ है फिर भी ऐसा कैसे हो सकता है।

उसे पहरेदार दरबार लेकर आये और राजा ने उस पूरे मटके को खरीद कर राम को दे दिया और युवती को पैसे देकर जाने को कहा। राजा ने राम से पूछा कि तुमने ऐसा कैसे किया। उसने राजा से कहा कि आप सच जानकर मुझे सजा तो नही देंगे। राजा ने वादा किया कि नही ऐसा नही होगा। राम ने बताया कि दही बेचने वाली मेरी बहन थी मैन उस से पीतल की मूर्ति निकाली और सोने की मूर्ति डाल दी थी। राजा उसकी चतुराई से प्रसन्न हुए। उन्होंने वादा किये आनुसार अपनी बेटी का ब्याह उस से कर दिया और आधे राज्य को उसे सौंप दिया।

There was a king who was very wise. The king asked his ministers if anyone could steal from him. All the ministers said no, no one could steal from you, King. Then one minister said that there are some goldsmiths who can steal gold right in front of people. So the king said that's impossible, no goldsmith can steal gold in front of me. He ordered all the goldsmiths in the kingdom to be called to his court. According to the order, all the goldsmiths came to the kingdom.

All were worried about why the king had called them together. Then the king came to the court and asked if they could steal gold under his supervision. Some goldsmiths said yes, we can take out a quarter of the gold. Some said we can steal half the gold. Then a goldsmith named Ram said that he could steal all the gold even in the presence of the king. Everyone was astonished and said Ram, you can't do this, but he insisted he could.

The king ordered that if you can do this, I will marry my daughter to you and give you half of my kingdom. He also said that the whole process will be monitored by me and my guards. Additionally, you will be given separate clothes to wear while working here, and you will change back into your own clothes when you leave. Ram agreed and said as you command. Ram started his work the next day.

Under the king's supervision, Ram was given a golden idol of Lord Shiva to make. Gradually, the work on the idol continued. He would work on the golden idol at the king's place during the day and make a brass idol of Lord Shiva at his home at night. This continued for about a week, and the idol was completed. Ram then asked the king for fresh curd to polish it, which was difficult to find in the evening.

The guards were ordered to find fresh curd, but they couldn't find any. Suddenly, a young woman came selling fresh curd in a pot. Ram put the golden idol in the pot and took it out polished. The king then called his gold expert to examine the idol and asked how much gold it contained. The expert was astonished and said, King, there is no gold in this idol. The king was also surprised, as the whole process had been under his supervision.

The guards brought the pot to the court, and the king bought the entire pot and gave it to Ram, paying the young woman and sending her away. The king asked Ram how he did it. Ram asked the king if he would punish him after knowing the truth. The king promised not to. Ram explained that the woman selling curd was his sister, and he had exchanged the brass idol with the golden idol. The king was pleased with his cleverness. He kept his promise and married his daughter to Ram, giving him half of his kingdom.
