A. Answer the following questions in short .

Q.1    What is MS Excel ? 

Ans:-    MS Excel is used to analyse and store numerical data in the cells of tables . The application allows you to perform a number of operations on the data in the cells. 


Q.2    What is cell ? 

Ans:-    The Intersection of row and column is called cell. 


Q.3    What is extension of MS Excel document ?

Ans:-    "xlsx " is the extension of MS Excel document.


Q.4    Write difference between copying and moving data . 

Ans:-    Copying data means creating one or more exact duplicates of existing data , while moving data involves changing its location within the same or a different worksheet .

Q.1    Define the term formatting . 

Ans:-  Formatting text in a cell changes its appearance, allowing you to modify aspects such as font colour, style, size, and text alignment.


Q.2     What is the purpose of wrap Text feature in Excel ? 

Ans:-    The Wrap Text option ensures that any extra-long text is displayed in multiple lines, making it easier to view. This allows all the text to be visible without overflowing into adjacent cells, improving the readability of the content.


Q.3    How does Merge and Center differ from Wrap Text ?

Ans:- Merge and Center combines two or more adjacent cells into one larger cell and centres the content within the merged cell.
Wrap Text, on the other hand, allows text to flow onto multiple lines within a single cell, but it does not merge cells.
So, while Merge and Center changes the layout by combining cells, Wrap Text only affects how text is displayed inside a cell.


Q.4    What is number formatting in Excel ? 

Ans:-     Number formatting in Excel refers to the ability to display numbers in various formats, such as currency, percentage, scientific notation, or date/time. This allows users to control how numbers appear on the spreadsheet, making it easier to interpret and work with diverse types of data.

Q.5    What is the Auto Fill feature in Excel ?

Ans:- The Auto Fill feature in Excel automatically fills cells with data based on established patterns in other cells. This can be used for filling text, number series, days, months, and formulas.
