Key Vocabulary

Infographics : Presenting information with graphics and lesser text.

Visual : Graphical or pictorial.

Trend : Change in value over a period of time, e.g. population, salary, prices, poverty.

Correlation : How one value affects the other. E.g., height and weight.

Legend : Colorful identification of values in the chart for easier analysis.

Chart Area : Space occupied by entire chart.

Plot Area : Area within the chart in which data values are plotted.

Ans:-   There are seven types of common charts in Excel.

Q.4    What is the extension of Microsoft Excel? 

Ans:-    " xlsx " or  "xls" is the extension of Microsoft Excel.

Q.1    What is the significance of charts and graphs:

Ans:-    Charts and graphs turn raw numbers into pictures that are quick to read. They help us see trends, compare values, find links between data, and make better decisions faster than looking at long tables.


Q.2  What do you mean by a trend ? Which types of charts are suitable to show trends ? Give and Example of a trend .   

Ans:-    A trend is the general direction in which data changes over time. It may indicate an increase, a decrease, or no change. Line charts and Area charts are suitable for showing trends. For example, the monthly sales of a shop from January to June.


Q.3    How is Pie chart useful in assessing the performance of a player in the whole team?

Ans:-     A Pie chart shows each player's contribution as a part of the whole team's performance. It helps compare the percentage contribution of each player and identify the best-performing player.


Q.4    How will you change the location of a chart to sheet? 

Ans:-   To change the location of a chart to a new sheet in Microsoft Excel:

  1. 1. Select the chart.

  2. 2. Click the Design tab (Chart Tools).

  3. 3. Click Move Chart.

  4. 4. Select New Sheet.

  5. 5. Type a name for the new sheet (if required).

  6. Click OK.

Q.5    Describe any 5 main elements of a column chart very briefly. 
Ans:-     Five main elements of a Column Chart are:
             Chart Title – Displays the name of the chart.
             Category (X) Axis – Shows the names of categories.
             Value (Y) Axis – Shows the numerical values.
             Data Series – Represents the data using vertical columns.
             Legend – Identifies the different data series by their colours or patterns.
