Chapter -10 Introduction to Robotics
Note :- There is no need to write hardword
A. Answer the following questions
Q.1 What is Robot?
Ans:- A robot is a machine that is programmed by a computer and can do many complex actions automatically.
(Note :- Make a robot from page- 151)
Q.2 When was the first industrial robot Designed by George Devol?
Ans:- The First industrial robot Designed by George Devol in 1954.
Q.3 Who was developed humanoid robot Sophia?
Ans:- It was developed by Hong Kong based company Hanson Robotics.
Q.4 Which Types of robot is called Artificially intelligent Robot?
Ans:- The robots that show Intelligent behaviour after getting programmed are called artificially intelligent robots.
B. Answer the following questions
Q.1 Classify the three types of robots.
Ans:- Depending upon the use and application, robots can be classified into three types:
I) Simple-Level Robots:-
These robots are simple and cannot carry out heavy or complex tasks. They are, basically, just able to support humans in their daily tasks. For example, washing machines.
II) Middle Level Robots:-
These robots once programmed cannot be reprogrammed and have sensor-based circuits, which can perform multiple tasks. For example, fully automatic washing machines.
III) Comptex Level Robots:-
These robots can be programmed and reprogrammed easily. They have complex model-based circuits. For example, laptops or computers.
Q.2 Give a difference between a fixed and mobile robot?
Ans:- Fixed Robots:-:
These are mostly used in industries with a well-defined work environment, adapted for robots, These robots perform specific repetitive tasks, like painting parts in a car manufacturing plant.
Mobile Robots:-
They move around and perform tasks in large, uncertain environments. They are quite helpful in situations that are not defined in advance and keep on changing over time. Self-driving cars, vacuum cleaners, and drones are some common examples of mobile robots.
Q.3 What are service robots ?
Ans:- Service Robots:-
Service robots have improved sensors and interact with humans closely
They are used to assist humans in tasks, like cleaning (vacuum cleaners), transportation (self-driving cars), defence applications (drones), medical procedures (surgery), etc.
Q.4 Name any two of India's famous robots and write their speciality
Ans:- Daksh: It is an electrically powered and remotely controlled robot. It is used for locating and destroying harmful objects safely.
Manav: India's first 3D-printed humanoid robot. It can perform push-ups and play football.
Q.5 What are artificially intelligent robots? Give an example.
Ans:- The robots that show intelligent behaviour after getting programmed are called Artificially Intelligent Robots. These are the future of technology
